This course focuses on common conditions seen in geriatric patients with special
attention to the nursing home and the nurse’s role in the management of these
conditions, with consideration given to race and culture. This course provides
an overview of diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and osteoporosis. It looks at each condition’s
pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic workup, treatment and nursing
